Wait a minute, Mr. Postman: New mail delivery schedule raises eyebrows
Wed Feb 6, 2013
I believe this has been a long time coming. I remember when they started Saturday delivery because of the volume of mail they had to distribute...mostly junk mail.

Pentagon: Skiff came within 150 yards of US Navy ship in Persian Gulf
Tue Jul 17, 2012
As mentioned already, the time and speeds reported to not coincide. Initial contact is at 5 miles (8800 yards). Yet just a minute later they have closed to only 1200 yd..7600 yd closer. However, their reported boat speed is only 20-25 kt (675-844 yd/min).
Woman who claims winning Mega Millions ticket refuses to produce it
Tue Apr 3, 2012
"...she had asked a friend to buy a separate ticket for her." I'm guessing she's still looking for that "friend", not the ticket. Hopefully it will work out for her, if true.
'Habitable' planets could become stripped dry
Mon Feb 13, 2012
Tidal forces play a part only if the planet is actually spinning in relation to the star or if it has an orbiting moon of significant mass. Mercury spins very slowly and has no moon, so any tidal forces it may feel would be very slow.
Twinkies maker Hostess Brands files for bankruptcy protection
Wed Jan 11, 2012
"Hostess, founded in 1930, operates around 36 bakeries in 49 states..." Anyone see a problem with this? Unless 13 of those bakeries straddle a state border, shouldn't there be 49 of them? And how come they have "around 36 bakeries"? Do they not know how many they have? Or was the writer just too …
Mitt Romney snags Des Moines Register endorsement in Iowa
Sat Dec 17, 2011
Any newspaper that lends its support to one candidate over another cannot be a credible or reliable source for unbiased news. That or it's all just another MSN headline spin job to get hits.
NASA says space station may be evacuated in November
Mon Aug 29, 2011
How misleading is this headline? "NASA says space station may be evacuated in November" The article reads that the station would be left vacant after the crews ride the two Soyuz craft home with no replenishment crews to take their place. Whereas, to use the word "evacuate" by definition means to …
Man reportedly loses sight after roller coaster ride
Wed Aug 3, 2011
Or a large bug. Riding motorcycles, you get hit by them constantly and they can hurt. That's why inpact-resistant glasses are hightly recommended when riding...and possibly on coasters now, too. I can sympathize with him, but I think this is just a freak accident. God bless.
Agency cancels $535 fine for woodpecker savior's mom
Tue Aug 2, 2011
Something doesn't jibe about this story...the official and trooper claim to have gone to the residence to "check up on the bird" yet they had the citation in hand? Which is it? Had they just let nature take its course, all they would have had on their front doorstep is a dead bird...and subs …
